The man of "1000 oceans",
How he sang to me.
In his arms,
A sinfully wicked dance,
It appealed to me.
He always kept me guessing,
Tip - toe ballet dancing.
When he would bow,
And lift me into the air.
At times in words,
He made me more than whole.
Compassion in his eyes,
Rip tides behind his body.
He bent me lustfully as I lay,
An angel waiting for crucifixion.
Laying breathless on my back,
Against the sands of a broken feather bed.
Still somehow I rose smiling,
In a three way tango of thorns.
And still he whispered,
"1000 oceans" in my ear.

Author notes

Hey, Greg, it's Ross. Remember me?

Well, anyways, I've always absolutely loved your poetry. Still do! You're fantastic, and this poem is no different.

It flows really well, and the religious allusions make the romance of the poem much more, err, romantic.

I've never listened to that song, never really been one for Tori Amos, but I'll give it a listen as soon as I can!
