He's Coming

My day begins with 16 hours to go,
16 hours left, and counting down.

Waiting and watching only 12 hours now,
Waiting, hoping it'll last.

I can't wait til that clock strikes ten,
My suspenseful waiting will come to that glorious end.

He's coming for me,
10 hours from now.

Hours are decades
Driving me mad with anxiety.

5 hour mark has finally come,
My phone buzzing with friends trying to contact.

Closer and closer, my heart jumping 3 beats at a time,
Nearer and nearer, he's coming for me.

3 and a half hours, I'm rushing about
Cleaning to have the house not a wreck
   For when I leave.

3 turns to 2, then to 1,
The end of my day is coming soon.
   He's coming to get me.

15 minutes and he'll be here,
5 minutes more to arrive on my street,
There he is to take me away.

Up the drive, up the stoop,
Knocks on the door, rings the bell.
I bid myself farewell, he's here to take me away.

'Ready for our date then love?'

Author notes

I started writing it because i was excited my lover was coming home, well, one of my friends read half of it and told me how suspensful it was, so i thought i would do this kind of a poem... I hope you liked it ^^
