"First Year Memory Poem"

When your life had ended
It tore and shattered our dreams,
Our future looked so hopeful
With you beside me.....


When God called upon you
You entered eternal life,
I had peace in knowing that
You was resting in heaven that night....


Painfully I must move on,
Your undying love shines its light,
Reminding me that you're still with me,
In my heart where we can never ever part.....


It's been a long year without you.
I cherish the years that we had together.
Always and forever you will have my love,
And it's your love that I will truly treasure.

"Through These Tears At Night"


Sometimes I just don't understand it
Life's ups and downs,
I try so hard to control
Whatever it is thrown my way.....


I have always tried to be a
Giving and loving person,
But through the battles of life
Bitterness became a part of me and then.....


It took so much control of me
For about 5-7 years of my life,
Then I found a way to get past it
Slowly while still trying to heal and then......


Suddenly it happened again
Loss of loved ones that tore daggers into my heart,
Seems like sadness is always a part of me
And I reach deeply within because.....


I had just found God once again,
It's so hard sometimes to truly believe in,
When the pain is so deep,my faith is being tested
Through these tears I cry, when I pray to God at night.

"Your Love Still"


Things don't seem to be getting better,
Through these lonely days and long, lost nights,
I'm a emotional wreck because it's you,
That I still want to hold and lovingly embrace.....


All alone now it's so hard to face,
Knowing you're gone and never coming back,
The reality still hasn't quite set in yet,
Your death has devastated and overwhelmed me.....


I never really knew what it was like,
To truly miss someone so very much,
My faith is slipping just like time,
I'm growing weaker each day, without "you" by my side.....


If only all of this was just a nightmare dream,
To be able to finally wake up and see you there!!!!
I'd kiss you and hold you, never let you go,
And appreciate the time "more" that we were given together....


My love, oh how I wish that now, you still somehow knew,
How much love I still have and had for only you,
I try to hold onto the love you faithfully gave to me,
Even though you're gone now, your love still strongly remains.

"For Our Loves Sake"





Time just seems to have stood still,
Since the day you died,
The days go by in slow motion,
My heart can't say goodbye.......


These tears just slowly flow on by,
Like a warm mist rain,
My heart can't take this turmoil emotion,
All it feels is pain....


Because I love you and miss you,
I miss your smiling face,
I miss the tenderness I once felt,
From your loving, soft embrace....


I miss all the things you'd do,
For my children and I,
You opened your heart and your home,
You were quite a guy......


I miss your love and your kisses,
How you made me feel,
You fell for me from the start,
Your love was for real.....


I thank God for our time together,
Thanks Robert for loving me,
I saw your love in your devotion,
You truly made me happy.........


Love has gone and left me now,
But the memories I take,
I promise you I will treasure them,
Just for our loves sake.

"You're Still There"


You came to me with so much love,
And you try to comfort my fears,
Because you know I am alone now,
You try to calm my sheded tears.....


You hear my saddened voice,
As I tell you what I fear most,
You take my hand and tell me that,
This is our home, stay right here.....


I feel your devotion in my dream,
As you try to look into my eyes,
You tell me everything will be alright,
That you're still with me even though I know.......


      "You're not here."


The tears that awakened me,
For a moment I felt no fears,
Because you came to comfort me,
In my dreams and my heart where .....
   
    "You're still there."

Honey I love you
I just don't know what to do,
I never expected this to happen
I became so comfortable being with you...


Honey you was the one
That took away my fears,
You comforted me and gave me hope
Of true love and you wiped away every single tear....


Honey I don't understand this
Why this happened to you,
32 is way too young
I feel like a part of me died too.....


Honey this pain is
More than I can take,
These tears that stream down my face
Being without you, is tearing me apart....


Honey it hurts me so much
Because our plans of saying "I do",
Was supposed to happen in between our birthdays
June 18th will now never happen....


Honey I miss your face
I miss seeing your bright smile,
You'll never know just how much
That you made my life complete and worthwhile...

I wish that there were a way to
still hold each other like yesterday,
To know I have you here with me and
share our lives together for another day....


I wish that there were a way to
wake up next to you every precious day,
Because time has a way of slipping
before you know it, it has gone away.....


I wish that there were a way to
tell you that I love you more today,
more then yesterday and more tomorrow
or how much I'll miss you, if you ever go away.....


I wish that there were a way to
have this pain in my heart go away,
That these tears would finally stop and
you was healthy and alive to share with me today.

"I Wanted To Tell You I Love You But"


I wanted to tell you I love you but,
By your bedside where you lay,
I knew if I told you that I loved you that,
The tears would get in the way...


Because you was there crying,
You were afraid and so was I,
I heard it in your voice when,
Your heartbeat began to die.....


You told me you never wanted to leave me,
That you loved me with all your heart,
You wanted to stay and grow old together,
It's too soon now for us to part...


I wanted to tell you I love you but,
Inside I wanted to die,
Because without you in my life,
How will I make it without you by my side?

"Because Of You"


Because of you, I began to live again,
Learnt that I could put my trust in someone,
Someone that showed me compassion from within,
Because of you, I began to trust and love again....


Because of you, I saw the beauty of the day and night,
That all my days didn't have to be dark within,
I saw the beauty of living and its joyous life,
Because of you, my depression was slowly out of sight....


Because of you, I could smile and laugh again,
All the tears that I used to cry began to drift away,
You showed me that there was a "us" for today and tomorrow,
Because of you, you helped me get back to myself some way again....


Because of you, you showed me a couples closeness that you feel,
Holding hands together, you never questioned my love for you,
You put "us" first because "us" really mattered,
Because of you, I will always cherish our love forever......


"Because of you, I was close to your heart, everyday and every night."

"You Were The One"


I try to focus on cherishing our memories,
Knowing you wont be here with me today,
Or tomorrow, next week or another year,
Devastated and crushed without you here...


I cry because I know,
That you wont be in our home sweet home,
My heart aches because without you it's lost,
And how my hand misses your soft, gentle touch...


Or to feel you in my arms,
Your hugs and kisses, your beautiful smile,
The comfort you gave me with your faithfulness,
You showed me true love and its endless gift....


You touched my life with your kind and loving heart,
But now that you're gone, I'm empty within,
The tears, the laughter, making me feel like number one,
So many plans for our future that didn't even seem to begin.


Our times shared together for a short while,
I am thankful for what you showed me most of all,
That from the beginning of our relationship you were the one,
That showed me unconditional, true love, until the very end.

"My Grieving Heart"


I awaken to another day to find,
That the bed is still empty where you used to lay,
How I still look for you there or home on the couch,
Oh how I wished that you could of stayed....


The loss of you hurts me so much,
These tears that temporally stop because I know now,
That our time together is gone and only memories,
Left all alone with me in my lonely, broken heart.....


It's so sad for me to know of what I have lost,
My best friend, companion, you always stood up for me,
Where do I begin or even stop,
You meant more to me then I ever knew or thought.....


Robert,I will always treasure our time shared together,
You'll always be that hole in my grieving heart,
That cannot be repaired only when we are back together,
Next to you in heaven, when it's my time to part.

God Called Upon You


God took you to heaven today,
Although it breaks my heart tonight,
Realizing that your loving arms,
Can't comfort me through the days or nights...


I never imagined that our time shared together,
Would be left so short and incomplete ,
It's so hard for me now to look at the future,
Without you in it, it seems so bleak.....


You entered my life when it was hurt and torn,
But you comforted and gave me time to see,
That you were a different,loving,faithful,and honest man,
I was blinded for so long but you still held my hand....


Even through all these tears that I cry,
Because my heart aches, missing and wanting you,
I know that you loved me and never would have left
But God called upon you into eternal life.
