And feel the cool wind upon my cheek.
As I glimpse dark waters at night,
Reflecting the blue moon and twinkling starts.
As I hear songbirds singing their morning melodies,
and crickets adding their voices to the orchestra of nature.
I realize,
it's all worth it.
When I'm wallowing in sorrow,
I think upon the majestic mountains and the great oceans.
When I'm worried beyond reason,
I look and marvel upon the simplistic beauty of a single blade of green grass.
When I feel it all too much to bear,
I reflect upon the wonderful glory of mother nature's kingdom.
And I realize,
it's all worth it.
As I gaze at golden and flowing fields of wheat,
As I see the strength of ancient forests,
As I look upon green hills, hear rolling thunder,
And smell newly bloomed flowers, wet with dew on a bright spring morning,
I realize the magnitude of the wondrous things the world offers.
I realize,
it's all worth it.
Author notes
I wrote this in church this morning when a prayer spoke of nature. It basically just means, that though life can be hard, the good things in life can always outweigh the bad, if you are optimistic and appreciate the wonderful things in nature.

yep nature goes on, even when we as humans are dying and are in pains, nature doesn't seem to care about humans because it goes on ignoring us... but anyways I love the line where you said, "And smell newly bloomed flowers" those smell really good... its like a complete different world when you smell blooming flowers... yeah there is a lot of repetition in here... which gives a little chorus or something... but anyways thanks for entering and good luck in the contest.

I like the way you've described things in this piece. I could almost smell the flowers the scent up my room next to the window. I love the repetition of "I realize, it's all worth it." It add a really beautiful effect to the poem as well as makes a nice and smooth ending. This was really nice.
Continue to write, with your heart.

Nicely written flowed okay. I think your words were too many adding to the same meaning. Good rough draft keep going.

Beautiful. You cannot appreciate the good, if you havent had the bad. It is the way that life works. But, as you said, It is all worth it.. Great job.

Brilliantly done
How totally true!!! This poem resonates very deeply with me, because when going through a particularly hard time in my life, it was nature and her beauty that kept me sane and kept me going. You penned this beautifully and it is a really wonderful and inspiring poem. Top marks for this one. Warm hugs, big smiles and lotsa love. -
Have I mentioned lately how AMAZING your poetry is? if not, i will now! This was a seriously awesome peice! Just 2 days ago, at school, we did an activity in English in which we had to go outside and write down EVERYTHING we felt. when I looked down at what I was writing and realised I was running out of room on my paper I laughed- but it's just true.. I love nature, everything about it.. All of the pretty things in the world can't sum up the amount of glorious beauty you can find in nature! Well written, and good point.. I don't understand how someone could go outside on a rainy day like today, and grumble and moan about how horrible it is, and I really can't believe that someone could walk outside on a nice day with the clouds so perfectly placed and the birds chirping, and NOT know there's a God. it totally myfs me.
Have a GREAT day. talk to you soon

The beauty of the world is difficiult to dismiss, even when everything else is black. Well said. I love nature- gpd's creation. -
There are those moments when we are just so glad to be alive, can come when I am driving in the country and think that this is a bad day to die - then I am glad I am still around. Sentiments well expressed in these lines - easy to read and understand.
