Silver Spoon

Silver spoon with a
Distinguished sheen,
Polished to almost worn.

Standing proud -
It reflects the moonlight softly,
Longing for heads in the skies to turn.

The holder’s silhouette quite similar -
An enlarged crown with a slender body
That glows in the silvery light.

Mind the handle of filthy fingers
And a mediocre mind,
Be reminded to look, and not touch!

Flawless in a glassy case, though
Curious of the working class,
Then, comes the buffer again…

Silver spoon with a
Distinguished sheen,
Pristine to almost worn.

Thanks for the comment, and to answer your question, I have no idea. I just wrote what the metaphor of the silver spoon meant to me. To me it's about wealth and first class people being polished and protected by their money. Also wanting appreciation from other high class people as they look down their noses at the working class. So that's how I wrote it...and I'm glad you found it interesting.

Strange write...such a simple thing to talk about. I wonder if there's a deeper meaning?

But anyway, nice write. You had some great lines in there. Keep it up. =)

    Very good

I really love this poem. I love the presentation of it and the subject matter in general.

It s amazing that you can write a whole poem based on something so simple. It takes a talented poet to be able to perform such an action.

A fine piece of poetry. I look forward in reading more of your poetry soon.

    Many blessings,
    Henny
