ON SATURDAY YOU WASN'T SUPPOSE TO BE HERE

FOR THE VETS, THEY DIDN'T KNOW YOU WAS THERE

BUT YOU DECIDE TO GIVE ME ALOAD OF STRIFE

BY DECIDING THAT YOU WAS GOING TO FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE

YOU WAS BUT A TINY LITTLE BLACK BALL

BUT WHEN YOU GAVE A SQUEAK, WE COULD ALL HEAR YOUR CALL

A HAND TOWEL TO WRAP ROUND WAS TOO DAMN BIG FOR YOU

SO A PUB GUINNESS BAR TOWEL WOULD JUST HAVE TO DO

BORN TO A CRAZY MUM LIKE YOURS SHOSHONE AND A DAD APACHE

LOSING YOUR SIBLINGS I DIDN'T WANT YOU LONELY

SO IT WAS AT NIGHT WITH A SMALL PURPLE TED

THAT AFTER YOUR MIDNIGHT FEED I'D PUT YOU BOTH TO BED

YOUR MUM HAD HER PROBLEMS, LIKE ALL US MUMS DO

SO A SURROGATE ONE I BECAME TO A SPECIAL LITTLE YOU

IT WAS DECIDED THAT GUINNESS WOULD HAVE TO BE YOUR NAME

FOR WE KNEW THAT WHEN YOU GOT OLDER YOU WOULD WITH US PLAY A GAME

NOW SADLY YOUR NINE LONG LIVES WASN'T TO BE

FOR TONIGHT AT 8PM IT WAS DECIDED YOU WOULD LEAVE SHOSHONE AND ME

YOU AND I FOUGHT ALL THE WAY FOR THOSE PRECIOUS ONE HUNDRED HOURS

FOR NOW TOMORROW I'M GOING TO BURY YOU IN A GARDEN FULL OF FLOWERS

If you have read my authors page you will have found out that I love and adore my cats and Shoshone unfortunely lost three kittens on saturday and surprisingly the vet found one still alive GUINNESS. Sadly I lost her/him today.

    Well I'm cryin'!. What a Lucky little guy to have had you with him and they never really leave you. I found this really touched my heart.

    This is a very painful read. Thanks for sharing this with us, I know how it is with pets. I know how it was with Ranjo Macaro my dog who dies of cancer several years ago when I was a kid.

    Beautiful and sad.

    That is so sad I am sorry you last your kitten. I know what it is like to try everything to keep an animal alive but to no avail...I have been through this with many rodent-like animals and a baby bunny...so I feel for you. Good poem though a great tribute to Guinness~

    This was a really beautiful write. Even though sad, you speak out your feelings. I know how you felt about that little black ball from when I saw it with mummy cat the other day. If you need me you know where I am and please place a flower down from me tomorrow. Keep your head up as kitten will still be with you always in your heart and soul.
