Over-shadowed by mountains,
I lie broken and alone.
The earth weeps crimson beneath me.
Oh how far I am from home!
Starless night creeps in
With the approaching cloud,
And for the first time since silver days
I speak my prayers aloud.
'Oh wonderous Lord forgive me!
Do not leave me now!
My strength is failing dear Lord,
So I close my eyes in bow.'
Then I feel the strangest thing;
A lightening of my heart.
In midnight silk my body is bound
As though we have never been apart.
With the whispering of wing beats
My armless body is raised
Above the velvet moon drops,
Towards those lands ungrazed.
A mighty beast of delicate touch
Guides me into an air of gold.
Her body wrapped in softest feathers,
Is my chariot to meet my creator of old.
