Riding across the prairie
Warm wind upon my face
Tied to this land
My spirit one with this place
My moccasins are well worn
I wouldn't trade them for another
Killed last fall, I received them
From my beloved youngest brother
My head band was made with love
By my big sisters hand
She left the tribe last year
Married, she joined another band
Riding across the prairie
Is where I feel most at home
Tied to mother earth
With her life giving loam
Just me and my horse
My soul feels truly free
At peace with myself
No where else I'd rather be
Warm wind upon my face
Tied to this land
My spirit one with this place
My moccasins are well worn
I wouldn't trade them for another
Killed last fall, I received them
From my beloved youngest brother
My head band was made with love
By my big sisters hand
She left the tribe last year
Married, she joined another band
Riding across the prairie
Is where I feel most at home
Tied to mother earth
With her life giving loam
Just me and my horse
My soul feels truly free
At peace with myself
No where else I'd rather be
