I loved you in another lifetime.
Long ago I kissed your sweet lips,
in a land where romance reigned,
a time when men were valiant
pursued their hearts desire
with unrelenting ferver.
Strength, honesty, devotion,
gentleness, and your ability to love,
have consumed my mind and body
with thoughts and desires
I have craved for an eternity.
Through unspeakable loneliness
the memories of you surfaced.
I could see your face,
feel your warm breath on my neck,
your hand brushing mine softly.
I have dreamed of you,
all this time wondering
just when you would return.

This is a poem written about someone I felt I had known before we met and fell in love. Even though it didn't work out, the poem will always be special to me.

I liked the way you expressed the love in this poem. It is comforting to think that somewhere at some time two souls once knew one another in a different lifetime and this is a beautiful subject to write about. You have done it so well.
