Be Careful What You Seek!

Randy little fellas tend to rove,
down the lane and to the cove.
Hoping to find a damsel fair,
languidly lying around quite bare.
Or playing in the shallow waters,
as free and frisky as the otters.
To bad they live in a puritan town,
where naked ladies can not be found.

Out into the countryside they roam,
away from their straight laced home.
Maybe to find a little Bo-Peep,
alone with just her flock of sheep.
Or up into the mountain passes,
looking for more hardy lasses.
Up steep paths and rocky scrambles,
but all they find is sticky brambles.

In desperation they head to the city,
where ladies are said to be so witty.
They stand agog in the town square,
staring at all the saucy wenches there.
One decides to take the gamble,
towards a lady he begins to amble.
Long blond hair blows in the breeze,
but seeing her face makes him freeze.

Eyes as blue as the local cornflower,
look at him with a menacing glower.
Hands clenched as if ready to fight,
Makes him feel he should take flight.
He trembles at the thought of scandal,
this is much more than he can handle.
His heart is jolted with a bolt of fear,
why is the preacher's daughter here?

    Cute.

I realize that cute is not the word you were hoping to see, but it is cute. This is rather awkward in places, but the ending makes up for everything. Good job.

Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it. I almost ended it with a wild "city girl" that he couldn't handle but I thought I would give him something more exciting after all the effort it took him to find her.

Nice twist at the end i thought it was a hooker or just a plain ol city girl that was scaring or intimidating him.. City girls can do that..lol

It was a very funny romp, nice lyrical flow.. To few write rhyming poetry anymore.. When done well it is a pleasure to read, as was yours.
