It's the land where I felt happy,
The land where I felt truly me,
I always dream of being there,
Without any worry or care,
Golden mountains under the sky,
Here I believe I can fly,
The desert of silken white sand,
Open beauty across this land,
It's the place I need to be,
In New Mexico I am free.
The land where I felt truly me,
I always dream of being there,
Without any worry or care,
Golden mountains under the sky,
Here I believe I can fly,
The desert of silken white sand,
Open beauty across this land,
It's the place I need to be,
In New Mexico I am free.
Author notes
I live in England but about 2 years ago I went on holiday in New Mexico, America. I fell in love with it & it is the most beautiful place ever. Each line in this poem has exactly 8 syllables. Please say what you think!
