Lullaby

Sleep now, little one,
there's nothing to fear
when I'm here
beside you

The night is cold;
let's cover you up
wrap you up in the blankets that mommy made
and light a single candle
to stave away the dark

Sleep now, and dream of wonders
of sights unseen,
of dreams of beauty and light

What's at the end of the rainbow?
Or on the other side of the sea?
What wonders await you tomorrow?
Sleep now, and dream these for me

Goodnight, my little one
A kiss, and a tuck, and a song,
A flickering candle, a whispered goodnight,
A scattering of blessing, and a pause at the door...
I love you, my baby, sleep tight

A most soothing and lovely lullaby you have here Very strange, as I was reading this, I had a melody going through my head and the words just seemed to fall right into it. Such lovely words they are; so beautifully penned, I must say.

Many blessings and tons of s

Lovely write, Fax Celestis! This was so tender and I could feel the hope and love emanating from it. I was recently babysitting my pastor's granddaughter who is 7 months old and the thought running through my head was 'I would do anything to remove all the pain from her life that is coming'. But I know that I can't because it is pain and sorrow that teach us to fully appreciate the times of laughter and light. Thank you for entering and good luck!
