DragonGuards

^                                A
                            tale                    is
                    starting                  it
                soon will                  be
          fought. Of                    the
    legend of two                    kingdoms
and two kings that                    had sought
a hand of a maiden                          and love
    everlasting. Each had              a        desire
but only one could            call      her Queen.
She rightfully belonged        to        Darker Knight
‘tis true. But King Lio Ring had been so very blue.
His wizard had told him about Lady Silver Gown. Desire
drove him to send knights to Blackland town.  His      plan it did
succeed, and the maiden brought back, but now his castle fortress
is under attack.  This is a DragonGuard nasty and mean.  Sent on a
mission from the Darker Knight King.    They stink and they smoke
no one wants them about.                      But how can we fight them
our rations have run out.                              So we looked all around
and found a fungus.                                        We are hoping that they
can’t just smell us.                                                So we searched with
our torches and                                                      gathered  so    many.
When we                                                                started      to      cook
them                                                                        there        was    plenty.
The                                                                            more          we
                                                                                  cooked      the closer
                                                                                        they                came
            to
        eat our
      mushrooms
          and
          be-
          come
          tame.

    Although difficult to read

I wouldn't change a thing. The style you use is unique to you. I could see it printed this way in a book. The story line was fun, The rhyme was hard to find at times. The flow was difficult to flow. A fun read none the less.

    I LOVE it!

This poem is so cool! I like the way it is shaped and just the words that flow off the page! It followed my rules and had a begining, middle, and end! Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest!

    Dear lil Poppy,
Yes, I did set up on Word then download, the area where we enter the poem doesn't give me enough time to create my figurals and word also corrects my spelling too!
But it still distorts a bit so the final image still gets tweeked before I'm finished.
    Thanks for enjoying!

    Super poem and presentation

This wonderful poem is an adventure! I am amazed by it and wonder how in the world you did it! Did you set it up on a word document and paste it? I have tried to do fancy things right on the place to post a poem and it got all messed up! There should be a class for this. Your poem is so much fun to read!

YIKES! I think you must be magic, sir, to have created such a thing as this magnificent poem! I am walking 'round and round it and tiptoeing into the little hiding places and I am becoming enchanted! It is a work of art and I am so admiring it and the talent that created it! Thank you for bringing this fine magical adventure to this contest!

    Dear wakingdevil,
This on is wide - do you have your margins set out as far as they can go?
It a Dragon with a mushroom at the bottom.
(Part of the fun is to realize the picture - Maybe I'll start putting it in the author's box)
    Thanks for the compliment.

You fed them magic mushrooms? smirkles, and that Darker Knight chappie, he gets everywhere!

It's a fab fab write, and I love how the image sits on screen [ ]. This must have been a real pain in the ass to do, unless you have some trickery, that allows your poem to move smoothly from Word to AP [assuming thats how you do it!].

For myself, my artistry, stops well short of a black cat in a coal house

Yep, the business, love the words and the image too. sj

I really like your story and the design, it is not hard to read, but it seems kind of a waste for the children for they never see the art of it, I am the only one who will see it for I do the reading. I have way to many children at each reading to sit and show them the designs of any of the work. Although my nest contest will be for the older set and they might enjoy this piece more, I will be allowing prewrites in that one it will start up as soon as this one closes! For this one I am looking for new writes geared specifically for the 3-8 age group and I will tell you that pieces with lots of lyrical, rhyming feel are usually the stars, with an endearing character, the kids love them. Lady Silver Gowns charms are mighty, as she stands on my balcony.
One of Darker Knight's DragonGuards came to her as she was singing a song of love to me.
The talking little fire-breather, told that war was coming this day.
And with this beautiful maiden, he wanted to have his way.
