Wide Open Spaces

Turn me loose, where the land meets the sky,
let me race with the wind, till the day I die.
Let me feel the drops of rain on my face,
let wanderlust flow, far away without trace.

Bar me not within boundries, never fence in,
my spirit will wither, die out without mend.
Let me reach for clouds, climb up above,
let me turn to see circular starlight I love.

You but have only to breathe in this air,
to understand open spaces without any care.
Let me ride cross the prairie, climb hills above,
feel strength on the back of my horse that I love.

Nudgeing flanks with my feet, tell him hurry lets go.
He understands my command and will hurriedly flow.
As we rip with the wind burning our two faces,
we love our sweet freedom, adore it's true graces.

Chewing the sweet grass, sips from cool streams,
rest in repose, neath the tree tops shading leaves.
Wide open spaces,my heavenly place on earth.
Given simple profound pleasures, delivered from birth.
