She looks at the woman in the mirror
The eyes are still bright but there
Are shadows from the past
A little flicker here and there with
A warm glow and a sharp edge
They say that the eyes are the windows
To the heart
And this heart has many windows
Looking closely you can see a few cracks
And many chips, but it still beats strong
In some of the cracks are pieces of
Hopes and dreams that have come to
Fruition and others that lay dormant
She looks at the lines and wrinkles
Some prominent and some not so much
They tell a story all their own
The lines are from experiencing life and
She wears them proudly like a
Goddess dripping in her precious jewels
They are her badge of courage
Her right of passage and
They fuel the fire burning deep within her
She is a woman
She has loved, laughed, cried, won and lost
And still believes that the best is yet to come

Very descriptive with great imagery of a woman in her prime but beyond wisdom of today. Thanks for sharing

fantastic descriptions.....

I love the word choices in this piece. It's extravagantly vivid description.

Ah, Life is all so beautiful in this reflective and soulful poem. Enjoyed very single essence of it. (=, am inspired by the indomitable spirit of Life, and how hopes nourishes our thoughts.

VERY BEAUTIFUL
This is a most wonderful poem showing a womans life of trials and troubles are not all bad and she still keeps hope and faith alive.

I really enjoyed this poem. A really nice version of the person in the mirror type of poem, but you have made it a unique poem. A warm and sensual use of language made it an emotional piece, and while it was sad and dark, it also managed to be hopeful. A really good poem :-)

So full of hope. Great depiction of a true woman. Well done. I really enjoyed this one. Keep up the good work!

Very Good
Ahhh... The acceptance of one's self is the all too important turning point in one's journey of life. I know that this poem is about re-affirmation of just that. To be truly content with yourself and see the blessing in everything is one of the best gifts you could give yourself. Very well written.

Beautiful.
Yes, I am sure I will look beautiful, I am sure we all look equally beautiful in our own ways, but it's the way I feel that is worrying me. <3 -
Beautiful & Effective.
This is very expressive and put something right through me. I wish I could feel that way right now even though I'm young I already feel like I have been to heaven and hell to earth and around over and over again. I will be amazed when I am older and I look in the mirror and think just this. <3 Lovely. -
i loved it, it really made me think for a moment. it was wonderful, good work.

Darling Soulful Woman
In the glasses glare
and the mirror's stare
I see a face
someone out of place.
Does she know me
only pretending to be
someone that I love
knowing anything about thereof.
Your write says you
who you're talking to
understands what you saying
is not another preying..
Mirror, mirror tell me
is she I see
real or just imagination
another lie, false incantation.

PS I am going to thank you since this type of interaction is really great muse for my tenth chapter of Sherlock Gnome, Pixie Detective, Faerie Good Investigations. I already have a mirror that in the land of Bliss (earth) reflects Pixieland and in Evermore (Pixieland) reflects the land of Bliss. So a reflection shows not you but your familiar who doesn't otherwise know you exist. I love you for helping me with that though that was not your intent. So applause. -
wonderful
Wonderfully written and touches the very soul. I loved it. I especially like this part:
They say that the eyes are the windows
To the heart
And this heart has many windows
Looking closely you can see a few cracks
And many chips, but it still beats strong
In some of the cracks are pieces of
Hopes and dreams that have come to
Fruition and others that lay dormant
She looks at the lines and wrinkles
Some prominent and some not so much
They tell a story all their own
The lines are from experiencing life and
She wears them proudly like a
Goddess dripping in her precious jewels
They are her badge of courage
Her right of passage and
They fuel the fire burning deep within her
She is a woman
She has loved, laughed, cried, won and lost
Allof us or at least almost all of us have loved and lost at least once and this just makes me feel better about my life. -
Powerful
Wow. These are the words of a wise person with a great outlook on life. The good, bad and everything inbetween. This was inspiring. I like the fact that so much can be said through words. This poem is another reason why. It also make me think, so much can be seen in a mirror. Now I will take time to reflect on my own reflection. -
