I don't know you

Walking through a forest
the trees all look the same,
different in their details, but can you say why?
Even the trees themselves cannot know.

I thought of you today
and what you would do or say
if you had been there with me
to look at what I could see.

The trees share so much;
the sunlight, the rain,
yet they could stand all alone
and it would still be the same.

I realized I would never know
what you think or why you do,
but even though I can't know you
you're a part of me my whole life through.

Yeah, I dunno... I think I wasn't even sure what I felt about it... hence the lack of tone. And no, it's not really about anyone in specific, just... everyone, you know? And thanks... I'm not sure if I like it, but I like the idea at least.

    <3 you.

    'bout anyone specific?

I like this. I don't think we can ever actually know who someone is. But that's alright... because we can know who they are in relation to us, which is what really matters, I think.

I can't get a tone from this poem. It seems almost sad, but a bit too matter-of-fact to be sad. I don't know. (I like it regardless)
