Radiant Heart

Radiant Heart

You shine with grace and radiance
going far beyond your dark struggles;
a light reaching out to those around
you lifting their hearts along the way.

Truly, I cannot know your unique pain,
it is yours to bear within you;
yet I know that you are not alone,
many are those who have gone before.

Their love and sorrowed sacrifice
lived in struggle from day to day
simply to be there for their families
and for you who read this now.

Hear this prayer that is being offered

from the view of ones who know;
as life is best when lived out loud
when shouting above the roaring doubt.

Weary hands lift one more time
and eyes will gaze out with hope
for your sisters stand on your side
to embrace you for who you are.
 This Cancer’s hold is nothing
compared to the love that is shared
with flowing tears and tenderness
to carry you for one more day.

So hold fast to those who love you
and give often your bright smiles of love;
for you are such a precious being

 and your light gives hope to us all.

~r.

    Done so well!! Not everyone has the wisdom to face such predicaments in life! I loved how you explained this to be a journey and not a destination. When disaster struck it burns away anything that cannot stand against it, leaving only the strong to survive!

    Very heartfelt piece! Good luck in the competition!

    Thank you so much for this inspiring piece. This is a subject that I hold so close to my heart because it has been part of my life for quite sometime and to me there is nothing more comforting to know that there are others out there going through the same thing... knowing my family and friends aren't alone in the battle. Thank you again for entering this beautiful piece and good luck.

    Both of these are beautifully inspiring and comforting, not just for those who suffer with cancer, but for those close to them also. Even though these are old writes of yours, I am thankful that I read them.

    This is truley an inspirational piece. I love this stanza:

    Hear this prayer that is being offered
    from the view of ones who know;
    as life is best when lived out loud
    when shouting above the roaring doubt.

    So often we forget how fragil life is, and so often we take it for granted. Maybe some will also be inspired as I have to live my life out loud. Thank you for this poetic and beautiful piece. Peace and Love Charlene

    A heartfelt write which carries a message for anyone going through this experience. It is often so hard for loved ones to witness the suffering of one dear to them and yet althiugh they feel so helpless just by being there they can make a difference. Lovely work.

    That was beautiful. Hope is such a beautiful thing. And this poem expressed it magnificently. Offering hope to a world is searching for it every second of their lives, a world who tries to feed that home with everything but the hope and love of Jesus. Thanks for this poem, it was amazing.

    It is so difficult to try and capture another person's pain, as it is to put oneself in another's place to understand why they are the way they are. However, you touch so many lives through your transcendent poetry...and there's so much compassion brimming in this piece. Each tender word, deftly placed, gives off serenity, and helps others accept death as a part of the great cycle of life. I, not believing that death is the end of life itself, feel the glow in every phrase, and its comfort. If ever I am disquieted, I will meditate here, and feel the weight lifting off my shoulders.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

    This really touched my heart. My Mum died of lung cancer 2 and a half years ago. It was the day after Johnny Cash died, (it's funny, the things that stick in your mind, we all loved Johnny, and I was brought up listening to him on the old record player). I really miss my Mum so desperately sometimes, and I just want to talk with her, you know? This poem has helped me to release some of that pain and believe me, that doesn't happen easily with me. So thank you, and bless you. You are a gifted poet. Six of One. XX.

You wrote passionate, careing, Honor,And most of all love of those who is ill, hurt,sad,angry,and wondering why on earth it has to be this way. I admire your work and Iam honor to read it. I feel you've captured something in this poem that will, as you stated, reach out to all those who have suffered. As I have not, myself, I do not know the pian personally. But as a young girl I watched both my mother and grandmother fight and win their battles with breast cancer. I am greatly blessed to be surrounded by such strong and beautiful women, and I thank you for this lovely jewel to their, and other's, triumph.
