Some label Easter: pagan holiday
Never meant for Christians in any way
But I celebrate, because He arose
Yes, Jesus Christ lives, He conquered His foes!
He came, lived then died
For mankind on Earth.
His blood was applied
When He saw our dearth.
His life would be loss had He stayed in death
No cover for sin and instead hell’s breath.
Yet death could not hold our True, Righteous King
For He is risen, His praise we now sing!
He’s taken His place
By God, to the right
He rains down His Grace
On us, His delight!
No more left in sin that leads to demise
Now we have become His Heavenly prize.
Yes Jesus arose; death He overcame
To bring us to God and cover our shame!
How lovely is He,
Our Savior and Lord
By God’s own decree
He is our Reward!
