Two Hearts

Two  hearts
residing  in  different  worlds
yearn  to  be  together
But  time  and  space  keep  them  apart
Lack  of  knowledge  constraints  them  even  more
Yet  they  know  their  love  is  real
It  grows  stronger  as  the  time  passes
Feeling  each  other  in  the  depths  of  their  souls
Yearning  to  break  free  from  the  forces  that  bind  them
To  catch  that  radiant  beam  of  light  would  be  beautiful
For  it  is  only  in  doing  so
that  two  hearts
may  become  one

wise words and a lovely poem,
    love the last lines
For it is only in doing so
    that two hearts
    may become one

    4 stars * * * *

Oh this love poem really surprised me. The pure words come together to express the holy feeling of the poet. To me word by word were great but “Yearning to break free from the forces that bind them” attracted my attention even more. I’m rereading the last line: “That two hearts/may become one” since the feeling is briefed in just one sentence.
Now this is my idea about love: The equation of love is not applicable to any fixed rules of the world. It kneels down the logic, break the lines and captivates hearts!
Thanks for sharing this with us

I think this kind of heartbreaking love is only second to unrequited...the fact that you are loved back by the one you love and can't even see them is an extremely sad prospect. I love the description of this, catching the radiant beams of light etc. The only thing I'm not sure on is the fact it's centred, but then that's just my personal opinion in poetry, and it doesn't really detract from the piece so I'll shut up now.

this poem reminds me so much of Romeo and Juilet- two lovers that could never be except for in the depths of secrecy. I really like this poem. It is something that I would write if Ryan left to go to college sooner than I thought. I'm gald that you're sharing your work on allpoetry.
