Tapestry Of Dreams

Missing image
Come dear child embrace this time
Erase sad memories from your mind
upwards spread your wings and fly
for tomorrow brings a brighter sky.

Your canvas waits with an eager eye
paint your dreams clear and bright
Let colours burst with hopeful strokes
sketch the paths you long to walk.

Scratch the surface deep beneath
search the soul for all lost beliefs
Discover the one who waits inside
the journey's yours so take the ride.

Control the brush, paint your life
blacken out dark pain and strife
Remember child the chance is one
so adore your time before it's gone.

The gift of life is a picture book
so turn the pages and take a look
And how you paint it is down to you
be creative with colours you choose.

And in the end a tapestry bright
amber suns invade black nights
The pallet waits for your command
this precious life rests in your hands.

I knew this was going to be good when I saw the gold trophy. I get the feeling you are from Europe [maybe the UK?] because of the way you spell color and say down to you rather than up to you. Good, encouraging work. thank you for entering my contest.

This is defintely applicable to youth today. How we all seem just to try and search for life in one place and become blind to the fact the time is long ahead of us. People tend to worry about what will come and, as I myself know, dwel on memories past never really letting go. Its all teh experience to life I suppose.

Wonderful write with a magnificent message. =)

    Excellent

This one really touched deep inside and brought tears to my eyes and that tight feeling you get in your chest and throat when something very emotional has occured. I know you know what I mean.
It's beautiful and good advice to one you love or like very much as a friend you have for life. For some reason this poem remineds me of the movie " What Dreams May Come " with Robin Williams. With colors so bright they seem surreal(sp). OK so I haven't had much sleep in the last 3 or 4 days and things I say seems to run on and on so I'll stop now. As always, Cheryl

Shaz I have said it before very few poets here can match your descriptiveness. You word pallet mixes so well to produce a picture that pleases the eye of those who view it.
A beautiful way to look at how we can paint our own lives, if only we dare to mix the colours
    Great write

This is absolutely stunnung! This is such a positive look at life.I love the light you shine upon life. You show how beautiful life can be when we realize we are the ones in control, the one's steering the wheel. I thought this was well thought out and your words paint such a wonderous picture. Great write!

wow...very deep. My favorite lines are the last two in the Third Stanza.. "The pallet waits for your command,
This precious life rests in your hands."

You have a really great gift.

I don't know if you were thinking about me when you wrote this, but I'd like to think that you were. This could seriously be applicable to me.

I love the imagery and the positive message it delivers. One line that really sticks out is...

"Remember child, the chance is one
So adore your time before its gone"

I really enjoyed this one, I'm glad that you invited me to read it.
