You see all the smiles
But my reality is a frown
You hear all the laughter
Yet I'm always feeling down
There's a brightness in my eyes
Only a reflection of mere light
I reflect a shining soul
Yet I'm as dark as the night
I see all your smiles
And know they aren't for me
I hear all your laughter
What was that, pity?
Eyes of brightened hues
In truth are rather cold
The light shining from within
The mask of dark taking hold
Smiles and laughter don't mean a thing
You know they aren't for real
It's a facade to my reality
For it's never what I feel
And the eyes in which you see
A window for you to steal
The soul that hides within me
And the darkness I conceal
