Don't Understand

they don't understand me, none of them do
they think they understand me
and they try to understand me, but none of them get it
and none of them care

they say that they were kids once
and that they've been through all of this
but our times and their times our way different
and I really don't think they know what is going on

my friends are more like "parents" to me
then the parental figures have ever been and ever will be
my friends are always there and always will be there
they are too, going through this stuff
and they know how to cope and get through it all

they think they know, but they have no idea
no idea whats going on and no idea how to make it better
I wish they would at least ask, or try to help me
but they don't

they don't understand me, none of them do
they think they understand me
and they try to understand me, but none of them get it
and none of them care...

Author notes

Ok, I wrote this poem for my "loving" parents..... I know they try to help, but all they do is make things worse.... I put the whole friend thing in there because my friends ARE more like parents to me, then my real parents

i can relate to this, i think a lot of people probobly can. but adults and such are always sayin stuff that what im going through is "just a phase". "all teenagers feel that way". "everyone has gone through those phases". its so annoying!

your poem explains it all well.

    AMAZING!

Your poem is great and I know how you feel. I feel as if parents are trying to help you and they say that they have gone through the same things but on they haven't because back then they didn't have the same pressures to drink and do drugs like we do now a days.

i know how you feel, my parents always either make it into a contest("When i was your age, blah blah blah) or they just say "get over it" i hate both ways so i never really go to my parents for advice hey i gotta go the school bell just rang. talk to you later, Slim

I can relae to this a lot and I know that the feeling sucks. I could feel all of the emotion in this. It is sad..that they don't even care. But always remember that someone will always care. Nice job and keep it up.
