I see my life like a kaleidoscope,
Shattered images running within
the darkness of my mind,
I feel at times if I am drowning
in my self inflicted pity,
Locked in the darkness of
the madness of years of using,
Forsaken the ones I love,
Alienating myself further from
the life I use to know,
My Children no longer recognize
me as they pass me on the street,
My rock, my life Divorced me,
I have reached the bottom barrel
of my bitter core,
I come to you Lord as I face the
fork in my road,
(Down on my knees)
A broken mortal,
Asking for the strength and
the courage,
To fix and rise above
My sinful ways.
Author notes
I saw a broken spirit within this picture. kinda like a cross road in life, This is not about my life, But inspired by Sams

Awesome. Very powerful and filled with emotions. I can feel the anguish burning from this poem. Great job.

I too saw broken spirits...and the need for salvation...the cold darkness is a bad place to be alone. Very well written. Thank you for entering.
