The Christian Science Monitor Knows Science & God, But Only When It's Convenient For Them

I was sold as a prostitute by the age of fourteen: Grew up in a trailer, never had a mother, and visited my father in prison for my first fifteen years of life, thanks for the love... But no thanks, I take more pride in logos than faith, and changing the world myself. Not waiting for a messiah or a prophet to do it for me. I am as much a part of God; as Jesus or Mary.  And I need not kill or sell that fact to anyone to prove it, or even the score. You might think Jesus is love? But Republican conservatives everywhere are murdering people by the thousands in his name, and vice-versa. It's been going on since the dawn of man, this rift between man made religions based on patriarchal deities. It's all about love and god, and getting to heaven! Can't you feel the love in it!? Hitler did, Gandhi did, Jesus did, 7 million dying children in Africa feel it! And just think! If the Christian Science Monitor attacked AIDS the way they attack Muslims and Pagans, the disease would have been cured long ago. Or starvation, shit, if the U.S. Army attacked starvation the way it attacks other countries? Everyone would have a hot meal and a GI Joe happy box doll. Not a missing mother and burnt out village combo meal, super sized.

Because the men you put in office keep you safe by sending a bunch of minority kids and non-citizens that want to be citizens off to war for you, for freedom. How appropriate, very few of their sons are fighting and dying; rather only the desperate, poor, and depraved (bad timing). Don't get me wrong. My debate is not with Jill Carrol or bad reporting, but media controlled crusades in the name of god and democracy, pure hokum. I'm glad she got out without dying, but look at her face, even terrorists didn't want that kind of karma on their hands. She's obviously quite a simple loving person. So how do good Christians get manipulated by rich pseudo-Christians playing the role? I know I come from a good Christian family, so how did they all get duped leaving me informed, but out in the cold? The majority of Christians assume that the Bush's think like they do and are good ol' folks, good christian folk, try rich blue blooded Freemasons out of Connecticut. The Bush's are the stupidest rich folk ever, but really the smartest, because they're billionaires. Obviously well established and intelligent, yet portraying the sportsman bluecollar-hard working white middle class man, my ass. They're as white collar as it gets. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they just dumb it down for us on camera. Pretending to be stupid, so we think they're lucky, and not driven by money and power... Nah, just another good old fashion american success story, The Bush's. More people should investigate their biography in America, they'd be surprised at what they discover.

Evangelical white America is destroying our relationships with the rest of the world, and our children's future and inner harmony with nature on this planet in general. If you knew what Conservative Republicans were really up to? You'd freak out. These are the most corporate-white-racist-big-money-rich-get-rich-poor-get-poorer-bastards the world has ever seen. These people shoot animals for fun and trophies, and golf while hurricanes are swallowing entire cities. And why not? (  "they were just a bunch of Negroes"  ) I mean, that's just boring and ridiculous backwards thinking right? Even Hollywood (Sean Penn in a boat) showed up after Katrina to make a difference for Christ sake. Where was our president? Putting, yep putting. What kind of soldiers are in Iraq? Well, Mexicans, Negroes, and poor white trash looking forward to "shooting at shit that moves..." (although, there are quite a few awesome soldiers there, stuck). The Christian Science Monitor, and this is no lie, has been called by SATANISTS, and I quote "The greatest misinformed liars ever! we love them; for once Christians are embracing good clean revenge and murder." Hooray, now that's just fucking wrong. Although Christians murdering is nothing new, but rather historical fact.

Hiding the truth is not a courtesy, and since I'm a ditched war veteran that's actually witnessed this amassing of NRA southern poor brats and minorities abroad to fight white corporate America's wars. I'll have to stand my ground on this one and say, sorry, but people should know the truth. Just because those that buy into blind faith let their big picture be crafted by other 'supposedly' more informed men? Does not mean the rest of us should. As a retired navy special-ops soldier I can tell you countless scenarios where I've witnessed politics at its all time worst. All in the name of money and opinion. They give you a Jesus blow up doll and a spun story, and you sit there and buy it like soup, batteries, and bottled water. More people should know the truth. Haliburton, oil, big business, contracts, job security, stocks. They get richer, and guess what? You get more credit card debt, higher mortgages, an inflating economy, and a soaring national debt, but more JESUS! Yay! Yay! We should either win the war immediately or not go there at all, this is just getting ridiculous. Korea, Vietnam, and now Afghanistan and Iraq, TWICE. I can remember thinking after the first Gulf War "why are we leaving and not finishing the job?". Ah, now I know, there's more money to be made drawing these things out. Creating a roof that leaks on purpose every fiver years, so we have a reason to use our aging military might. Get rid of old bombs, make new ones. There's a lot of jobs in that, but is there really?

It's a game played with human lives for no other reason than gasoline and other people's land. We created Sadam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden, we backed Sadam's war with Iran, and we backed Osama's war in Afghanistan with the Russians. We've been in bed with these guys all along. We could have prevented all of this loss of life, but we let it happen because 'we' think it creates JOBS and GROWTH. It's Malthusian elitism at best, or ignorant practices at worst. And Christian Science Monitor subscribers and poor conservatives everywhere are merely consumer drones for big business, frontline missionaries and fodder for backwards religions. Children weened on sitcoms, pop tarts, a false american dream, and a 401 k plan. A country built on the backs of a genocide of American Indians (for their lands), millions of purchased African slaves for free labor, immigration, industrialism, pre-corporate america. When in the end, all dualisms eventually conform to a center, not the left or the right. God Bless America, because no-one else will.

(Exhale) What an intense piece to read. I am sure it was all the more intense to write. You touched on a lot of different topics that needed to be stressed. I can't even begin to comment on them all. I will say that I agree with much of what you have said and it is our responsibility to go out and find the truth instead of letting others spoon feed their truths to us. A profound expression, best wishes.

Damn, you did an absolutely awesome job of making your point without really bashing individuals personally. Yes, I know you mention individuals, but only the representatives of the earthly entities we humans put so much stock in. What you have done is very uncommon in most rants. In fact, I don't even know if this would go into rant classification because I don't think it would give it enough credit. It is more of a statement of fact and a call for us to look honestly at ourselves and our own petty motives and payoffs for allowing the worldly powers that be to dictate our thinking.

    Glad I ran across it.

In regards to this contest, your piece gets credit for revelation. Nothings offers insight like a good rant. And a splendid one at that.

As one who threw her television and pop tarts out the window years ago, I am giving you a rousing, Arsenio Hall style whoo whoo, and throwing popcorn at the Philistines. Fascism was more honest/up front than American democracy.

Yup! you are allowed to lump the "millions of people into organized religiom", because they sit and allow their scriptures to be stretched and manipulated. Word up people, ...organized religions are not JESUs, or Mohammad,
or Budha, or any other diety that you may pray to. Organized religion is just some good ole boys club. So when its verbally attacked, it has nothing to do with the truth in which you seek. Its like saying, screw that country club for their close minded bigoted good ole boy ways, but the game of golf is okay! See?!...
I agree Horus, its time for the bullshit to end. But humans get dumber by the minute-de-evolution spud-wipes!

i agreed with much of your message....definitely the big corporations are in power, in control, and won't let go , well...there IS no one to make them let go...so yes, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer...but blaming organized religions for this? i didn't quite follow the connection. let's face it, in ANY organization, there are asses. organized religions are no exception. but im tired of people blaming Jesus for the actions of people who are borderline psycotics and insist on taking everything literally and to the extreme. Extremism, on the part of christians, moslems, politicians, gays, straight, black, white, american, afghanistan...is a bad scene. period. in some cases, politicians make use of it for their advantage...in some cases, the extremists BECOME the leaders....but don't blame it on organized religions. they have become a catch all for every fault that exists today, and for me, personally, it is old. i do go to church, i try to sift, sort, make sense of what i hear. i try to be kind to people around me. i try to help others. it is part of who i am. i am not perfect, don't even come close. i am like the other people there...flawed and human, but to lump me, and the millions of people like me in with extremists is stereotypical discrimination, something you purport to be against. so open your mind, like you urge right wing religious fanatics to. i belong to organized religion, i am left wing politically, and proud to be both. Jesus wanted a level playing field....let's remember that. (bit of humour never hurt, either )

thanks for the article, great discussion starter. as i stated earlier, much of what you say needs to be said.

    thanks for saying it.

I can see you have been "all up in it". I dont deal with organized religeon, just another bastard trying to control me. Just like EVERYONE else. I have studied the bible on my own and have done a lot of praying for clarity. I try to live a clean life and do what my spirit feels is right. I live a simple life with only limited levels of stress. I expect to get screwed by government, media and religeon, and pray the eternal power of rightousness will sort this all out on the end. Untill then all I can say is that its good to be "small".
Peace to you. Hope it finds you soon.

A rather grim look at the good old American way of life, Jeremi. You know, life is a big conglomeration of those blow up dolls and low politics in high places.

When I was a kid, I attended the Christian Science Church for awhile because my grandparents were friends of the church leaders in the small southern Oregon town where I mostly grew up... the rest of the time I attended the Methodist church and I came to the conclusion at a very early age that organized religion was not for me.... but I wont go into the whys and hows of that childhood decision, not here anyway.

Your take on the worlds condition today is quite interesting and probably true, mostly anyway.. gotta leave a little room there for personal opinions.

This is a thinker piece, Jeremi...and I like thinkers.
