Losing hope every second that passed
My faith in the Rock of Ages was faltering
My life was being torn into tiny pieces
Swimming around in life’s problems
Trying to keep my head above the water
Gasping for a breath, slowly sinking
Losing sense of direction, which way is up
Everything was out of control, out of my control
I was lost, hurting, suffering, and unable to go on
Scars of my past opening, revealing flesh wounds
I thought my life was soon to be over, until I found the way…
I came to know the Way, the Truth and the Life
I found the answers through the true Answerer
Spring rains came and washed away my tears
My Strengthener came and built me up again
Today I am a living example of one who has been transformed
I have been transformed thanks to the Most High God who’s forgiven me
In my distress he came to rescue me from the dangers of this corrupted world
He brought me from darkness to light, from weakness to strength, from death to life
I found the way, the answers to life...
Are you still seeking them?

After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth."

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth. This is such a wonderfully loving testimony as to what the Lord Jesus can do! Thank you so much for sharing this with allpoetry and I truly hope that others will see and seek Christ because of these words you speak.
You used some really clever sentences in this... some really good imagery as well... you should be proud of this piece... for God is speaking through you!
God bless you! ~Melissa -
Tim...wow this is so amazing.....I can't even begin to tell you. I'll admit, that this is how I have been feeling lately as you said "Everything was out of control, out of my control
I was lost, hurting, suffering, and unable to go on
Scars of my past opening, revealing flesh wounds
I thought my life was soon to be over, until I found the way…"
Thanks you so much for refderring me back to the poem, I was going to read it and forgot, so thanks again. God is the Answer to anything and everything in life.....thank you my friend for reminding me of that fact.
great luck in this contest and thanks

Brilliant, this masterful masterpiece
There's no greater testimony one so masterfully ascribed as this. Truly, none can appreciate just God's gift of Salvation until they've realized the depths of despair, from being so LOST. Brilliantly ascribed, Tim, this is a captivating and dynamic testimony. Thank you for the privilege to comment, and not miss this gem.
Regards, Milly

Again, I can relate to this so much and find this piece to be so very close to me...Do you remember a while back...In some group thing I posted a little cry for help concealed behind a rather theological (ofcourse!) inquiry. Well guess who replied. Yes you. Do you know what, whatever you had replied i then brushed off so carelessly, but i can not deny that your reply DID lead me in the right direction and though i cannot without lying proclaim i am reaping the fruits of Christ-led life or living all for God, I am, nonetheless, embarking on the same journey you have described here. Isnt it just amazing when you stop and contemplate, really consider, what Christ has done for us. That is what i saw shining through your poem. This was truly beautiful, showing traces of the other end of the story, per ce, and nonetheless filled with poetic life and resounding with God's eternal promise in every line. Awesome, Sharcu, awesome!

Wow! Indeed you put a ton of effort into this poem. It going to be a tough decision to judge. Ya, free verse is getting more and more tempting to me to try out. I really liked the parts where you described being lost, out of control and definitely in need of a savior, and how He takes a broken life and makes it new. Wonderful job! Thanks for entering the contest!

excellent
Tim, this is such an amazing poem, I don't know what to say! Instead, I suppose I'll let my actions speak louder than my words, and just applaud this!
Edited on Apr 01, 12:47 because 'I put "actiona" instead of actions. Oops!'. -
Marvelous! You inspire me to want to return to free-verse more often. This is fantastic! I enjoy your usage of metaphor.
A very inspiring, personal write as well. It makes me feel like I know you better. I'm better for it.
My only critique: You spelled "Loosing" wrong. It should be "Losing". It is done so in a couple of lines. That's all.
A great write nonetheless...

(Shine On By Third Day, u need to hear that song!!!
)

Oh wow.. Another GREAT GREAT spiritual poem... It's like givin your life to The Potter's Hands.. It's just htere.. I love everything about Him...
Except for this lol, this poem is great..
"Trying to keep my head about the water"
It should be above the water...
Geez.. I real love this... -
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the father, but through me."
I really love this write. Because it's not the traditional, accept God now or you'll suffer in hell....it's a testimony of what God has done for you then you offer salvation to others.
Absolutely beautiful spiritual poem. God Bless You and Take Care♥--Ann
