Wait

In the darkness she lies
waiting for a sweet caress
that never came.

Is it the bosom, or is it the soul
that you want touched, I asked
and as she lay motionless,
I turned away.

On the bend that blinded my thoughts
and vision from her sensuous frame
in the darkness,
I planted a sweet soft kiss in the air,
that I knew would never reach her.
