Troll's Music

         I

The Troll seeks solace,
under the bridge, his place.
Hidden in the fresh shadows,
in the heart of drowsy meadows.

Silent whirlwinds are dancing,
dry familiar leaves floating
The Troll closes his blank eyes,
Time losing his endless ties.

         II

Forlorn
Crawling under the eagle’s wing,
under a bridge, I sing;
forbidden my memories,
my fancy –
Ah, what was my offense ?
Inside me burns a red fire
so hot – I can not dire
to yell. My Joy!
The words flickering on my tongue
and disguised they appears!
Forlorn!

         III

I wish they were butterflies
but just as I open wide my eyes
gray and ghastly fly tiny moths
- eerie and wild multiple froths-
aloof over the swift water stream
When I hear a whispering scream,
I doubt my mind, I doubt my reason
now I accuse my senses of treason!

         IV

Whiter!
The bonfire is now so old
ice darts freeze me cold
wistful and unsure.
My steps are like landmines
bursting images of crawling horrors
- are just my mind -
with the winter, Now
there is a troll at my side!

         V

- What I see ? A Woman ?
- Do you feel like a predator before your prey, troll?
- The other side is now so distant. Who are you ?
- They told me not to be strange, less strange I will be if you could not exist.
- I am sorry. Sometimes I just exist.
- And sometimes, I do not. It is easier to believe in a troll under a bridge than in my own self image.
- Join me in the belfry.
- I can only be a pair under the bridge.
Alone, the Troll and the Girl, under the bridge.

         VI

I question:
          What is fantasy ?
          What is dream ?
          What is reality ?
Be devoured by the troll
under the bridge. Reality
has its tool, Girl…

         VII

The bridge was my only invention,
I, however, have not only one intention.
Thus, here for a celebration
and also for my judgment
Who would destroy this figment
and who would turn it permanent ?
