The future is uncertain
Your life is unsure
your just a possibility
a maybe in the heart.
genetic testing to be done
on your ma and pa
to find the possibility
of having you their healthy child.
Or will you have problems,
in learning to walk and talk,
Or will life always be a puzzle
one you will never understand.
Will they pass their genes to you,
SO your extra smart,
fixation on history or maths,
a book always in your hands.
Who ever will you be,
You my grandchild.

My daughter and her boyfriend both have Aspergers syndrome, Aspergers is a high functioning autistic condition. therefore they have to be tested for different Autistic conditions. Their hope of having a healthy child do not look good. But we won't know untill they have both been tested. depending on the results will depend whether they will or won't have children.

This is a beautiful poem Ronnie. You worded your thoughts so very well for "your maybe grandchild". It gave me the shivers. It's so very touching.
