Wandering blithely, I Found a lake hidden,
where only I could uncover and stopover.
Wondering just once I peered in his bottom
and quietly inside, sleeping like a maiden,
deeply enough to be hard to try to recover,
I saw a fine and rich doll, clad as a noble person.
The crystal-like waters gave me no courage
to dive and recover the doll in the lake’s bed,
neither the peace nor stillness of the water
made of me a brave in such tender age
and where I found, the doll still rested,
yet I still proclaimed to be his true wielder
When time slowly marched, I returned;
my past time was all hazy: memory was my maze,
and yet again I discovered the hidden lake,
Wiser I took no risk, and inside the lake I peered
and within there was still the doll, and no surprise;
her rich clothes are whole, her beauty safe from time’s rake.
Time is no teacher, if first I have been a coward,
now I am hasty, tormented by a uneasy sensation;
how much time would I still have before my end ?
The translucent surface I ruined with a dive so awkward;
but who could blame such man without inspiration;
deeper in the lake I would find a lady to finally befriend…
The conclusion of this story is too hard to share;
the waters are surprisingly muddled, clouding my sight;
the doll was lively, clearly displeased, with my hesitation;
and she disappeared still waiting for me and for my care;
while I was unaware of how long would be my plight;
and perhaps even tonight, I seek the doll in her seclusion.
