The sonnet is a literary dance
That's difficult to master from the start,
The labor in itself a work of art,
Yet effortless with knowledge in advance.
To make the couplets match with greatest ease,
Iambic pentameter is the key;
"De-DUM, de-DUM," the rhythm goes, you see-
To find a word that rhymes? That's such a breeze!
The patterns of the rhymes are not too hard;
Much like a waltz, you have to watch your feet-
The patterns, rhymes, and rhythm must be neat.
You're guaranteed success in this regard.
And soon it ends, much like it had begun-
That's when you realize that you had fun!

Author notes
Well, I guess I'll just say that you inspired me... I like writing sonnets. I don't do Shakespearean ones as well as I do Italian ones... at least, I think that's the kind that I do the most. At any rate, I hope this helps you a little bit!
