She is told she's beautiful,
From many who see her.
She smiles when told.
An aspiring model, she is.
Into the place she walks...
stares shot from every direction.
A model slowly walks by.
"You're not good enough",
She mumbles under her breath.
Overcoming,
The feelings eat her
Up inside.
She storms out of the agency,
and runs back to her house,
Tears fall from her flawless cheeks.
~*~
Staring into the mirror,
For hours in the day-
Her reflection never matches up
To her intentions.
The magazine on her lap
glares at her, whispering.
How could such a thing
Even say a word, you ask?
It tells many lies:
Saying the way she looks
Is not right;
Her clothes are not good.
Pressuring her to do something,
Unheard of- change.
~*~
Without thinking, she follows
A worldly thing.
She strives,
But not on something good.
Her goal is perfection.
She wants control.
Eating to her, has become
A sin.
Each day she hears the voice,
"You're not good enough"
She presses her limits-
till she is
emotionally and physically weak.
Never was she reminded
Of her beauty...
