She was an all American girl next door

She the delicate doll, glistening sapphire eyes
She the flower beauty, blossoming courage inside
She the woman, stronger than most men
Her calling led her to fight -
From American tears once cried.
The Army, a challenge she knew of,
Yet even amongst the driest heat
She stood proud.
Hearts now shattered from her tragic loss,
She’s become our precious hero.
While amongst the morning gold,
Her spirit was sent -
Beyond the earths green
Past the starlit moon
To the pearly white gates
Where her wings have spread, in Gods eternity.
The echo of her voice and laughter is clear in mind
To hug and hold her once more becomes a constant dream,
To empty this pain is a simple plead,
Yet; may we dry our cries,
Place her inside our hearts, where she will be remembered by -
Her mothers love and father’s pride.
Her brother’s smile and her friends’ laughter -
And together our loving memory.

Good poem. Made me cry. I'm sorry for your loss. My father was at the same base Amanda was. It could have been any one there. I'm sorry it had to be her. Her family and you shall be in my prayers.
