Two Warriors

Two Warriors
©copyright 2006 Bonita M Quesinberry, R.C.

In your mercy, Lord, you never said it would be easy;
to the contrary, you said it would be hard,
this mission of speaking your tough words and direst warnings.
Though we mean to prevent some from being charred,
so very few join the fray; instead, preferring attack,
thus from your mind they set up themselves as barred.

It is so wearying, Lord, and extremely frustrating
that our words are smeared and warnings unheeded;
yet, each time I feel as though there's no point to speaking on,
in your mercy you send the word, "Succeeded,"
this time by they who encourage and support your hard words
while standing against they who are impeded.

In your mercy, Lord, you sent your loyal, loving warriors,
Deborah and Joanne; sisters are these two:
yet, though the great masses against me are lurid and strong
and think your army is pitifully few,
to me it's as if you'd sent all of earth's and heaven's troops,
that our strength in you defeat their numbers' queue.

In your mercy, Lord, I ask you to bless these, my sisters,
that each continue to stand strong for your Word
and to feel your peace when wounded by life's tribulations,
each filled with strength when enemy lines seem blurred.
And, Lord, I ask for more warriors to join your small army,
that life's water be seen amidst rancid curd.

In your mercy, Lord, you never said it would be easy,
but at battle's end your rewards will be great;
for Jesus will take us up to heaven's haven of peace,
where wounds heal and from persecution we break
while sitting at our Master's feet to dine on His sweet voice
as He takes the pain we endured for His sake.

    Slendiferous!!!

    Well Mom, Umm...lady Bonnie; ; I just feel humbled as well just INHALING these words. Precision, like a surgical blade, you just cut the most amazing fabric and use such amazing words and wealth of knowledge, and you top it off in dedication to two fellow Warriors of the Spirit.

    Some, make poetry look easy. Tell me, can you also bake? Good in crafts? Something like along those lines?

    Just immaculate. You can't really critique poetry this elegant. It deserves a frame. I am so glad, we met. You are a spiritual inspiration, but also, a truly humble and special human being.

    You have fought the fine fight, and you just keep on going.

    All my love;
    your Son;
    -James.

    Oh Bonnie, this is so beautiful and I am so honored. I love you dear Sister! God is so good. This battle is sort of like teaching. Even if I am in the classroom for just one child, that is great in the Kingdom of God. Thank you for standing so strong and so valiently for so long. I thank our precious Lord if I helped to sustain you just a little bit. God is so good and He loves you so very much. You are His precious daughter despite what the deceived might profess. Thank you Bonnie.
