On a moonlit night

Missing image

On a moonlit night

Do you remember the walk by the lake?
our arms around each other as we murmur
our words of love, my hand in yours you take
to lead me gently round the lake further.

It was on a moonlit night you held me close
and spoke the words I have waited to hear,
‘Be my bride my dearest Sally’ as you propose
‘By my side forever more to stay my dear.’

The moon was shining down on us that night
with love you put a ring upon my finger
a diamond that shone beneath the moonlight
to seal our love as in your arms I linger.

I remember well the day we wed last year
I was the happiest bride you’d ever see.
I thank the universe for sending you dear
I thank you my love for choosing me.

Hine Giffen

This is such a beautiful love poem that I can see was written straight from the heart. There was such warmth and tenderness here and i am so happy that you have found your true love, there is nothing quite like it. And well done for winning a silver trophy with this, it is very much deserved.

Dear Hine, two lovers kissed and the world stood still.
Your love song,” On a moonlit night” has touched my heart.
Oh true love is a splendid feeling.
I simply adore the way you thank your love for choosing you.
For I see, his love is all that matters, its everything.
His love is King, and the supreme happiness true love brings.
Many heavenly blessings that all your dreams came true.
You’re both young at heart. Best of luck in the contest!

    Dear Hinemoa

Kia ora. Your poem is so sweet and romantic. Really beautiful to read. Now I want a proposal like that! You and Heathcote are made for each other and your words to him in this poem are just lovely and full of love. Best wishes for the contest.

Heathcote's a romantic critter isn't he! It'll be your 21 month anniversary on my birthday. I'll send the two of you a card if you send me lots of gifts, sound like a good deal? Well, not my birthday, my puppetmaster Mayne's birthday...I know, I'm confused too.

The poem is lovely and I think Heathcote is a lucky Kiwi.

    Dear Hinemoa,

This, in its sincerity and unaffected expression of happiness in love is one of those poems which come straight from a heart full of gratitude for your good fortune in finding, at last, the true love oif your life.
Edna and I are just so happy for you and Heathcote and anyone who knows you both can see that you are just so right for each other.
A splendid entry for this contest which makes for a pleasurable read. Good luck in the voting.
Applause, love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.)
