The lesson

I've been wanting this for some time
I was oh so bored with you being mine
You've never showed any emotion to me at all
Not anger, not jealousy, you just watched me fall
I've given up on trying to have a relationship with a blank face
You always thought if you showed no emotion you'd be safe
But to your surprise I wasn't like those other girls
I'm not the type to freak out, not the type to wear pearls
I want a guy who can show that he cares
One that will take me to the movies, parties, and yes even fairs
I'm really sorry that i brought this upon you
I swear that i wouldn't have if only i knew
Knew that ahead of us there was only heartbreak
But now I'm sad to report that it's too late
Too late to turn back time, erase what's been done
But we will always remember what the lesson was learned from
