When The World Is On Fire

When the world is on fire you will stand
and be judged for each and every sin.
When the world is on fire your demand
for mercy will be lost upon the wind.

I know it is the punishment you deserve,
I know that it is the verdict you are due.
I am well aware of the masters you serve
and I am revolted by their hold on you.

You high ministers of fashion and truth
who idolize what is pleasing to the eye.
Your boundless gluttony is the proof
that will be cited when you finally die.

When the world is on fire you’ll know
at last you were never above the law.
No mercy will come to soften the blow,
nothing will be spared the final straw.
