What Love Is This

What love is so kind,
This love I do not know.
How to handle this feeling,
I still do not know.
It caught me off guard,
I did not see it coming.
I never thought I'd smile,
Never thought there were such people.

What love is this,
That sees me for who I am.
Respects my mind,
Respects my body.
Who could have seen,
This would come to be.
This love so kind,
This love so sweet.

What love will teach,
And have patience with me.
No matter what I say,
This love is with me.
Who knew I could feel,
So happy and free.
Who knew I was trapped,
Who knew what I could be.

Now I know why tigers pace,
Behind the bars of steel.
For what love can keep such beauty,
And possibly call it tame.
As the tiger paces,
So do I.
But now I am free,
And I see what I was missing.
What love is this,
True.

This was so excellent!!! Great descriptions on how it feels to finally fall in love! I can almost feel your metamorphasis.

wow. I can so totally relate to this! I thought love never would exist for me because I had a crush on someone that was totally out of reach(so i thought)then I went out on a limb and told him that I liked him and he liked me too! I fell almost like this poem's words so closely portray to me! This is a fantastic write!
