For My Brother in Christ

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before you today
To ask for something, not for me,
But for a brother who is hurting

You know what he’s going through
Seeing the pain he holds deep inside
A twentieth birthday coming soon
Yet he’s without family and shelter

Touch Terry’s heart even through his tears
Put a smile back onto his face even while he’s hurting
When he calls out in his distress and his anguish and pain
Let him remember to praise you as Job did during his trials

While life’s seas are crashing down around him
Let him learn to trust in the Rock that will always hold
Calm the seas as you did years ago with your disciples
Put your guardian angels around his ship, guiding and protecting

When Terry falls, lift him back up to his feet
When Terry cries, wipe away his fresh tears
When Terry is weak, give him Your strength
When Terry is lost, shine your light so he can see

I pray that Terry will have an incredible birthday
That You will perform a miracle in his life...
Father, You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
Show Terry that you are bigger then any of his problems

In Jesus’ Almighty Name,
Amen

Happy Birthday Terry (Liveinthesky19)

This poem is dedicated to someone who I've never met or talked to, but someone who could use some prayer. He's going through some trials right now and I felt the Lord leading me to write this poem. God bless you, Terry.

Psalm 20:1-9
1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices
      and accept your burnt offerings.
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 O LORD, save the king!
      Answer us when we call!

this is very sweet. That person is lucky to have somebody like you to pray for him, even if the poem is theoretical. you have so much love in your heart Tim, you are very inspiring. Great job, keep it up. (And it was very smart to use a reference to Job...I never would have thought of that...)

I never pray even though I believe in God and Jesus... But this was a good poem you wrote here. At first it seemed like you were gonna keep the same pace with the syllables, but you didn't, and you still pulled it off. This was a good prayer for your brother. You are a good brother. Keep it real!

Whenever I think I've read some of your best poems, you always somehow manage to suprise me with another. Amazing job Tim, you could form something this heart felt for someone you have never talked to? That's just.. wow.. fantastic, shows real compassion for others. I really like how this all flows together, especially that you could form it into a prayer at the same time without it sounding forced. I do hope he reads this, unless he has already read this... *checks* Oh well he might have but he didn't comment. Whatever the case, I sincerly hope you two communicate and become stronger and all of that good Christian stuff. Amazing write dear!

    *God Bless*
