Nairobi Sunrise - Going Home

Nairobi Sunrise (III)

You lie in half  light,
cool and dreaming,
Ancient Africa, the fair.
And yet the sticky sweat of noon day
lies behind your chilly morning
Latent in your misty air.
Some hint,
beneath the dewy dawning
of dust and wildness,
dry and bare;

Some part of you,
of me,
some feeling,
Untamed still and rough, but open;
Returning now,
I feel it there

    Very nice. Funny. I just watched "Out of Africa" last night. Good job. (That's one of my all time favorite movies, in case you're wondering -- or even if you're not.)

    Applause, applause, applause.

    colourful and flavoursome

    This is a physical thing. Like going back to a first lover. For a second third fourth bite of something you'll never taste unless you are allowed back. It had flavour and senses and mmmm gorgeous. End of the year it is. Hope for some bloody fine writes when you do get back - you never disappoint my dear. xx debs

    Unfortunately this was written some time ago in the plane. Won't get back there now until at least the end of the year.

    Anything with half-light makes my knees weak...

    :-)

    GREAT to read something new from you. This has a throbbing heart to it. You are connected to this place and give these words life --

    Godspeed for your trip. This is a beauty.

    There is nothing that smells quite like the air of Africa.
