Sometimes when it's late at night,
And words are all around,
Midnight spills her whispers
And love gives them a sound,
There's something in your peaceful face,
Lying next to mine,
That tells me I'm lucky
Just to have a place in time.
It hasn't been so long ago,
That I remember me,
Walking through a forest,
Lost in all those trees,
But now you're here beside me,
Your gentleness asleep,
Giving me your silent love,
Loving me so deep.
Silent love is your softest way of giving.
It's magic seals your passion to my mind,
Taking me to worlds, where starlight is the wind,
In a city where the clocks forgot to wind.
On all the roads I've traveled,
In all the things I've done,
The midnights I was lonely
And those mornings in the sun,
In dreams of dancing meadows,
Where the mountains teach the sky,
I looked for you to find me,
But the forest grew too high,
Till one day, by the water
When the music found a song,
The words were soft and summer
And they carried us along,
And now your here beside me,
Your gentleness asleep,
Giving me your silent love,
And loving me so deep.
Silent love is your softest way of giving.
Its magic seals your passion to my mind.
Taking me to worlds, where starlight is the wind,
In a city where the clocks forgot to wind.
Sometimes when it's late at night,
And words are all around,
Midnight spills her whispers,
And love gives them a sound,
There's something in your peaceful face,
Lying next to mine...
That tells me I'm lucky... ...
Just to have ...a place...in time...

Very Good
I like this one a lot. Do you have a melody for it? I could almost hear a melody as I read it. It seems that it would lend itself naturally to music. Good job. Thanks for entering.

Why is this listed as a gold trophy winner in MY contest which isn't finished? *blinks* This "upgrade" is so annoying!
ANYWAY, this is a very nice song. A little hard to see as alternative, punk, or heavy metal, but it is very pretty and flowing. Thanks for entering. -

A nice blend of the simple and the metaphorical. Would love to hear this to music! I loved "walking through a forest lost in all those trees". Nice way to take a common phrase and make it yours.
-
this is quite the serene and lovely poem of love you have penned her for your partner like a soft warm breeze upon the cheek well done poet!

Jeeez, what a beautiful love poem. Reminds me of the thoughts I have for my wife, and having found her this time around.
Lovely stuff, kaibab! Truly, one of the best love poems I've read on here.

So jealous. Lol.
Amazing poem. As usual.
I really am not sure as to what to say except that you layed this piece out perfectly, with all the right words.
You'd better win the contest with these lines
Good luck.

Ohhh sigh - I wish I had a love such as this...
I can hear this, sweet and rich with voice. Sing on man, I'll join in with my guitar and smile...
