"How Do I Catch A Dream"

"How Do I Catch A Dream"

How do I catch a dream?
How do I hold a moonbeam lovingly in my arms?
How do I find forever and know it is in me to cherish it?

I wrote those words many years ago
A lifetime spent in search of the answer
Never knowing how or why I even wrote them so long ago
Yet forever knowing that the answer was my only hope of salvation
To be blessed to speak such words of truth
To let others see inside them that beauty I have come to see there
To know what it is to love without conditions or self serving agenda's

This is where my search has brought me
A search that will go on forever
For there is still so much to know and understand
To find the answer to that simple question.
How do I catch a dream?

Thankyou so much for your kind comments. To have the critique of a writer of your caliber is a blessing indeed. While I have been writing for some years it is only now that I have come to seek the input of others and thus grow in my efforts. I do hope you will give me your opinion of my other works as well.

An age-old question; one that would seem to take the whole of one's life to answer. The use of the word "moonbeam" in that second line was a good choice, and a wonderful metaphor for our dreams and ambitions, which can be so fragile. This is a wonderful, instropective piece, that had me considering the choices and roads I've taken, and whether any of those "moonbeams," for me, still glow.

Teriffic piece ..... You have captured the perennial catch 22 so perfectly. I believe we have all been caught in a moment where we feel like that. Beautifully penned. Encore please.
