Stay

Please don't--this time don't walk away
I only want to hear you say you'll stay
until the sun bleaches the sheets
and we can lie together in the heat.

I want to trace the contours
of your body with my skin--
make you feel the way I do
when the light comes pouring in.

I live each moment just for you,
and you always rush right through.
This time, try not to run away
I'll do anything to make you stay
(Anything to end this cliche)

My favorite type of poetry is the simple stuff. The stuff that doesn't take any deep sort of understanding, and is just plain great. This is one of those poems. Short, simple, and very very sweet. I admire your work here, great job.
