Passion Lost

It's eating me up-
Destroying me.
Starting slowly at my very soul,
Picking away until I beg for mercy...
Trying to destroy me.
Trying to make me forget
Why I'm here.
It's wanting me to forget my goals
And trying to destroy my dreams.

The passion is lost
Deep within the pressure and pain.
It's hiding from me
Amidst the rush and chaos.
No more daydreaming of this
No more smiling of that.

Come back, Passion Lost
And feed my hungry spirit.
It's alone and dark...
Dehydrated, tired, and torn.
Why did you have to go away
And leave me here to decide?

Maybe it was lost in passion
Focusing too much on theory
Instead of the dream.
Focusing too much on the future
Instead of the present.
Passion has faded although,
Lost, I think it is not.

Stop hiding from me
I promise I'll nurture you this time
Instead of forgetting the dreams.
Passion, I don't know how much I can take
Please come back to save me...
And envelope me once again.

Author notes

No, it's not about a boy. It's hard to explain...but I get it so that's really what counts. I doubt you can figure it out, but you may be able to relate.

    pungent

What I get out of this is without passion of dreams and goals and ambition for life it is meaningless. I love your flow and language, it is a really hearfelt expression and I appreciate the emotion.
    nice job,

I like this, and I know what you mean but the world is endlessly interesting to those who have an eye for new variation. There is a permutated jazz about it all, if you like cofffee try tea, if you like sugar try lemon, etc. The whole purpose and meaning of life is just around the corner.
