Going WAY Under

In these troubled times I was swept away
By this fast, fleet, swift current

But this time you just weren't

My world was sombre hue; a darkened grey
I was slipping down; Going Under
Drowning in my mind's poisoned lake
I could see the lightning; Hear the thunder
Waiting to strike me and bring pain and ache
I was going under and you could have helped me
You sat and watched me as I desperately cried
Looked away like you didn't, wouldn't see
You sat and watched as my soul slowly died
My 50,000 shed tears will forever be engraved
On my cheeks; my soul; my heart
To depression I had felt enslaved
Working towards it now; A fresh new start
I'm breaking through; Slowly swimming
I was so confused; I had no trust
My life was rapidly, swiftly dimming
But I must keep swimming; I can't turn to dust
