Above the War

She’s hiding all alone,
From the screaming in her head,
Her mind is reeling with regret,
For the things she should have said,

Now it’s too late and the eagle has fallen,
From the pedestal in her hidden tomb,
Now she’s shaking there’s no where to go,
A sanctuary safe like a womb,

The trap doors cracked and broken,
Escape is bleeding dry,
She’s praying that her father,
Wont make her mother cry,

They’re all around her mirror,
The slashes and the pearls,
This is reality she knows,
Treated like other lost girls,

She’s playing with the voices,
The cardboard box of pills,
Another ornament of childhood Decay,
Catering for a void that nothing fills,

No examples of love,
No promises kept,
Shuddering little girl,
Has to accept,

Her family are crazy,
They’re tearing her life,
Father poised to slash mother,
With the point of a knife,

The knife of regret,
Slices her tears,
Pushes her hopes,
Towards future years.

a sad piece here, and what makes it so sad is so many are hurting in this situation all over the place, behind closed doors so much goes on. a good poem.

You use some very descriptive language in this write- excellent job. It should be "her family is crazy"- family is singular, though it can talk about more than one person.
"The trap doors cracked and broken,
Escape is bleeding dry," <<-- My favorite 2 lines.

The font is a little tricky to read, though.

Wow...you are so talented! I'm speechless, it's not just the amazing words into the way you write it too, so full of sadness and despair. This is a very good write, although it is quite sad, well written. xXx.
