*O DEATH! HOLD BACK THY STING!!*
Crippled by a serious deformity,
And imposed masterly inactivity,
Gloomed by utter poverty,
Many wail in anguishing adversity.
A waif, a forlorn wanderer,
A clueless shipwrecked brother,
A totteringly, striding blind,
A helping hand is all they need!
Not for the riches, not for the power,
Not to revel in Heavenly pleasure,
But to them, my help, mirth *shall* bring,
Hence O cruel death! Hold back------
Hold back thy venomous sting,
Hold back thy venomous sting!
Hold back thy venomous sting!!

This is an excellent poem ...
but it doesn't address the question posed by the contest.

ecrivain 01
the poem reflects the very 'purpose' of life
I think 'meaning' of life implies 'purpose of life' does it not?

Written very well.
This is so true and when death is inevitable and one is of Christ there is no sting, only the love of a person who has gone on. -
O! DEATH!! HOLDBACK THY STING!!!

I need to know which poem you used and which line because I don't recognized any of them. Please put them in the author's comment box, thank you. Shawn
