Rain of Memories

Here I am again
Roaming through these lonely streets
My feet hit the ground
Creating a constant beat
As soothing rain drums all around me

Silver droplets dust the street
The pavement shining with
A sheet of sorrow and beauty
Beads of rain in the light of street lamps
Sparkle like your smile

A crash of thunder
Shatters the silence within me
I look up at the tempestuous sky
Twisting and churning
Reminding me of your clouded eyes

Completely drenched
For a moment, feeling so pure and free
As the water temporarily strips away my faults
And the pain that so often laces my smiles
Fades, but you will never be washed away

I go inside
And leave a trail of secrets behind
I walk to the window
And watch the drops of moisture
Chase each other across the pane

A scattered reflection of my face
Brings unwanted recollections
Memories of you flood my mind
And creates an apparition of you
That haunts me by my side

I wait as the storm
Rages on, and gradually
Weakens and becomes more distant
It ebbs away so slowly
Like time here without you

    Not Bad At All

I believe that you are the only one that used more than one option, although some I think could have as well. I liked this poem. I think you did a good job and I thank you for entering it in my contest. Good luck!
