That Superman is one real cool cat
Leaping tall buildings and all that.
The Silver Surfer is pretty hip, too,
Making his own waves right on cue.
And you gotta love good ol' Aquaman
With all sea creatures at his command.
And Batman knows how to keep it real
Cruising 'round Gotham in his Batmobile.
I always had a soft spot for Daredevil, too.
There's just nothin' that that guy can't do.
And The Punisher makes the bad guys run.
He always knows how to get the job done.
All these guys are great in their own way
And they always end up saving the day
But I've always rooted for the little guy,
The one who never catches anyone's eye.
F'rinstance, there's sweet, little Underdog.
And don't forget about Napoleon Bonafrog.
Then there's Atom Ant and Mighty Mouse
He may be small but he's a powerhouse.
But my most favorite superhero of all,
One who answers each and every call,
One who gives crooks an awful lickin',
Is the one and only . . . Super Chicken!
Yep, he may not look like much at first
But all the thugs know he's the worst.
He drinks down some of his super sauce,
Then proceeds to let 'em know who's boss.
Sure, Superman smacks around bad guys
But he's so muscled up, there's no surprise.
They just laugh when Super Chicken comes
Until he starts high-speed peckin' the bums.
Like Batman, he has a butler and he's a millionaire
But his butler's also his sidekick. They're quite a pair.
He's a dopey lion named Fred who makes lots of mistakes.
But working together, they've both got what it takes.
I often wonder why Super Chicken lets Fred keep tryin'.
Then again, how many chickens hang around with a lion?
Bossing a lion around never fails to impress all the hens
And it scares all the bad guys when you have big friends.
His real name's Henry Cabot Henhaus, The Third,
A pretty high-class name for a scrawny, little bird.
He's one impressive chicken, pal, I'm tellin' you!
But that's not all! He's a pilot and a scientist, too!
The funny thing is, when he drinks the super sauce mix,
He gets no superhero powers and he can't do any tricks.
He's just the same chicken, yet he always wins in the end
As he rounds up the criminals with his dimwitted friend.
Maybe that's why I like Super Chicken the most.
He isn't much to look at; he doesn't brag or boast.
But he never, ever gives up when he answers a call
Proving that persistence is the greatest power of all.
