Two Broken Hearts lay bleeding in the frozen snow
Their owners both uncertain which way now to go
I know I held both our futures in the palm of my hand
The future has crumbled, and disappears like grains of sand
What fickle people we are, we tell ourselves we’re in love
And the person that you’re in love with, no one can rise above
But should they decide to move on and leave you
They will hurt you just as bad as your enemies would do
If by loving you and not letting go was a cruel thing to do
A selfish crime, but an act of love, what else could I do
It feels now I have been locked up, so throw away the key
The jury found me guilty; it remains for you to punish me
What is the sentence for loving a person for too long?
But not give the commitment you so patiently waited for
Will I have to spend a lifetime wandering in solitude?
Forever wondering what life may have held in store
