As I lie there in a puddle of blood
Staring at the crimson knife
Soaked and dripping wet
Gleaming brightly in a dimming light
With red reflecting on the walls
As the pain wracks my body
A memory of a painful cut
Betrayal so fierce it burns
It rears its' ugly head
And shows a hatred I never knew
A lingering thought rises to the surface
A picture of a sharp jagged edge
Flying towards me with unnatural strength
And biting deeper than I ever thought possible
Creating a wound that will never go away
As I lie there in a most pitiful state
The hand that held the knife to me
And struck me hard with all its' might
It reached out to me and caressed my cheek
Then the mouth that said goodbye
Now spoke those spiteful words
It added just one more cut
And with an audacity unimaginable
It said to me, "I Love You"
Wrenching my heart as the blackness closed in tight
